EV Hack : Talk Session

IEEE IE/PELS Jt Chapter MACE SB conducted EV HACK on 8th May at 8:00 PM through Google Meet. The session was an interactive talk session with the Winners and Runner ups of the first EV Hack presented by IEEE IA/IE/PELS Jt Chapter Kerala. The talk session was engaged by Jaison Christal, Dona Joy, Ria Maria, Akash Philip, Abhishek Mohan, Adwaith S, Alfia Subair, and Anto Jose. The session covered how the speakers came to know about the event, how they prepared and discussed how a problem should be approached and explained the realistic approach to solve a problem. They touched upon theory to practical application and the difficulties they encountered and how they overcame it. They spoke about the importance of Matlab and how EV Hack has to be approached. They winded up the session by explaining the technical aspects of their project in lucid language. The talk ended with an informative Q&A session.

IEEE PELS Day IV

An industrial visit to Kerala Electrical and Allied Engg. Co. Ltd. (KEL), Mamala, was conducted by IEEE IE/PELS Jt. Chapter MACE SB on 25th June, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The visit was performed as a part of IEEE PELS Day celebrations and was coordinated by Adityan A. Dinesh, Rangeela Ravi and Krishnajith P. It was aimed at providing industrial exposure and job-related insight to undergraduates who are interested in and planning to work in the electrical and electronics sector. The trip began at 9 a.m. with 39 students and 1 institute faculty member arriving at Mamla on time.Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Co. Ltd., also known as KEL, is one of the most successful public sector enterprises and is entirely controlled by the Government of Kerala. The students were taken on a ride through the sessions of core assembly, tanking, testing (radio test, HV test), designing, painting and packing of transformers in the industry. The company guide explained the various steps of manufacturing the structures and devices. The students were introduced to various methods of construction. There were also opportunities to clear the doubts and queries of the students. The students and volunteers were sent for a lunch break at 12.30 pm. In the afternoon, the team visited the largest archaeological museum in the state, Hill Palace, in Tripunithura. The palace was located in the Tripunithura neighborhood of Kochi and was the imperial administrative office and official residence of the Cochin Maharaja. The students found the visit very informative and joyful. The team returned and reached the college by 5 p.m.

IEEE PELS Day Celebration

The PELS Day celebration was conducted by IEEE IE/PELS Jt SBC MACE on June 20 at 4.15 PM. The interactive session started off by Mr Govindaraman, past chair of IEEE MACE SB. He said about the various aspects of PELS and the membership benefits of PELS. The session also consisted of an interactive Q&A. This was followed by a joyful cake cutting ceremony. The session ended with photography session. The session saw a participation of 33 IEEE members and 2 Non IEEE members.
